On the 2nd of October the senior girls of St. Ailbe’s school played a great game against Clonmel C.T.I . in the first round of senior football championship. In the first five minutes Melissa Hayes scored two vital goals which got us off to a great start.
At twenty minutes in, with the score at 2.0 – 0.1 a great move involving Sinead Cummins, Maeve O’Gorman and Blathnaid Cummins finished with a great goal.
Clonmel rounded off the first half with two great points.
Melissa Hayes got our second half off to a great start with 3 outstanding goals and a great point. Not long after Clonmel scored 2 points.
The score now lied at 6.2 – 0.6. Five minutes into the second half Maeve O’ Gorman scored a great goal followed by a point from Etain Clancy. Clonmel then scored a goal and 3 points. With ten minutes to go Blathnaid Cummins scored a brilliant point. The score now is 6.3-1.9. In the last seven minutes to the end of the game St. Ailbe’s scored 3 goals and a point.
The final score was 9.9 – 1.9.
