Ladies Football in St. Ailbe’s School
Ladies football plays an integral part of extra-curricular activities in St. Ailbe’s school. Teams are entered at both Junior and Senior level in the MLGFA Post Primary Schools Competition each year and we won the Munster Final cup and plate on a number of occasions.
We reached the Munster quarter-final in both the Junior and Senior competition in the 2017/2018 season, which was a remarkable achievement for both teams having been promoted to a higher division this year.
We enter U-14 and U-15 County and local competitions and our 1st years participate in the MGLFA 1st year blitz in Mallow every year and have been successful in winning this competition several times. Our students have gone on to represent their clubs and county at U-14, U-16 and Minor level.
We have also enjoyed outings including the All-Ireland Ladies Football Final in 2017 in Croke Park.
Training takes place every Tuesday after school and on selected lunchtimes throughout the year with Ms. M. O’ Connor and Mr. R. Ronayne. New players are always welcome.
